You've likely seen or at least heard about the recent mini-series : Adolescence, that sparked widespread discussion.
It's struck a chord with many — because Gen Z is facing a crisis, and it's one we can no longer ignore.
The series has opened up a flood of questions, and a wave of concern has swept through households and schools alike.
Parents of young children are feeling anxious, while teachers and school principals are under increasing pressure due to the rising instances of student misbehavior — from bullying to self-harm.
I began exploring these underlying issues about three years ago, as I started reading deeply into books about adolescence and teen psychology.
Along the way, I also observed a common thread across families: emotional struggles were becoming more frequent and intense.
Many parents are stretched thin — balancing the growing demands of modern life, financial pressures, and the emotional needs of their children, all within the confines of nuclear family structures.
A bit about me — and why I wrote this book
I'm a mother of two young children. After the birth of my first child, I experienced many sleepless nights and found myself physically and emotionally depleted. That was the beginning of a personal journey — a path of self-awareness and growth — sparked by the powerful book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
As life became even more demanding after my second child, I found myself turning to parenting books for guidance. These resources, along with my lived experiences, began to shift how I approached parenting, family life, and self-care. I also felt a deep curiosity to understand teenagers — realizing that the foundations we lay in early childhood shape the years to come.
Over time, I started noticing a pattern: many families around me were struggling emotionally, often without understanding the root causes of their challenges. Stories of bullying, anxiety, and conflict among children and teens became more common, and I felt a growing urge to contribute something meaningful — something that could help families build emotional awareness and resilience.
That's how this book came to life. It is a reflection of the insights I've gained and the tools that have helped me and my family, with the hope that it can support others too.
